December 6th - 3.00pm - Christingle Service
The Christingle Service has become very popular in recent years. During the course of the service the children are presented with "Christingles" - "Christ-lights" - and the significance of the Christingle is explained to them.
December 13th - 9.30am -
Sung Eucharist & Nativity Play
December 22nd - 7.00pm - Parish Carol Service (followed by mulled wine and mince pies)
The Parish Carol Service is an opportunity for the community to gather together to sing our most popular Christmas carols. The service is followed by an informal party in the church hall with mulled wine and mince pies.
December 24th - 6.00pm -
Dressing of the Christmas Crib
In preparation for the Midnight Mass the Christmas
Crib is dressed in this short and simple service for children. During
the service the children hear the nativity story and place the various
figures in the crib.
December 24th - 11.30pm -
Midnight Mass
At St Helen's the Midnight Mass of Christmas
is traditionally celebrated in candlelight. Before the service begins
the choir sing carols around the Christmas Tree. At the end of the
service the Crib, dressed earlier in the evening by the children,
is blessed.
December 25th - 9.30am -
