March 16th - PALM SUNDAY
(A few days before the Feast of the Passover
Jesus entered Jerusalem and was welcomed and cheered by the crowds
waving branches of palms. Today we begin our morning eucharist in
the church hall where the palm crosses are blessed and distributed,
the first Gospel of the day is read, and we process to church recalling
Jesus' entry into jerusalem. During the service we hear St Matthew's
version of Jesus' Passion and crucifixion)

March 20th
- MAUNDY THURSDAY
(On the Thursday evening Jesus shared a final
meal with his disciples. After commanding them to love one another
they all walked to the Garden of Gethsemane where, later that night,
Jesus was arrested, He was subsequently tried, condemned and sentenced
to death.
During our sung eucharist we recall Jesus' last supper with his
diciples. At the end of the service consecrated bread is taken to
the Lady Chapel which is adorned with flowers to represent the Garden
of Gethsemane. We then strip the high altar and sanctuary of all
its ornaments and furnishings recalling how Jesus was stripped before
being scourged in preparation for his crucifixion, Following the
service members of the congregation take it in turns to pray and
meditate in the Lady Chapel until midnight.

March 21st - GOOD FRIDAY
(Today we recall the crucifixion and death of
Jesus. In our morning service, the traditional Good Friday Liturgy,
we are reminded of the dreadful events of this day. We hear St John's
account of Jesus' Passion and death; we pray for the world; a crucifix
is brought into church and placed in the empty chancel. Holy Communion
is celebrated.
Our afternoon service is a devotional service and addres for Good
Friday and ends with the tolling of the church bell at 3pm, the
time at which Jesus died.)

March 22nd - EASTER EVE
(After Jesus was taken down from the cross he
was buried in a tomb and a large stone sealed the door. In our Easter
Vigil ceremonies we begin in complete darkness to signify the darkness
of the tomb. A fire is lit and, having blessed the Paschal Candle,
the congregation's candles are lit. In the twilight we hear the
"Exultet" follwed by readings prophestung the resurrection
of Jesus. The waters of the font are blessed and, after the congregation
have renewed their baptismal vows, the lights are switched on and
the Easter message proclaimed. We then celebrate our first eucharist
of Easter and this year's Easter Garden is blessed.)

March 23rd
- EASTER DAY
(Early on the Sunday morning the tomb was found
to be empty. Jesus had been raised from the dead. Our morning service
is a Festal Sung Eucharist during which we celebrate Christ's victory
over sin and death and joyfully proclaim God's promise of etenal
life to all believers.
In the evening Compline includes prayers at the Easter
Garden)
